Ancient Roots is an endeavour to strengthen the herbal community in Israel and between Israel and herbalists from all over the world. This exciting community effort is led by Israeli English-speaking herbalists with the help of our herbalist friends abroad.
Our premiere conference will be this coming February, 9-11, 2020, to coincide with the Jewish holiday of Tu Bishvat (“the birthday/new year of the trees”). The conference will be held at Ana Poriya, a resort close to the sea of Galilee in the north-west of Israel.
Check in, reception and Opening Circle is scheduled for the evening of Sunday Feb 9th. The conference will begin in earnest the following morning, Monday Feb. 10 and run from 9:00-18:30 with breaks for tea and meals. Conference hours will be from 9:30-16:30 the following day, Tuesday Feb. 11, with a closing circle taking place from 16:30-17:00.
The conference will consist of both formal lectures and smaller break out workshops. A one hour herb walk will take place on both days and will be led by different experts with smaller group sizes.
Ancient Roots will allow our people to do something we have never done before, create a quality program in English for English speaking citizens at home and abroad and expose the beauty of our country and culture’s herbal traditions to the rest of the world.
